    Post Wall hanging

I've always wanted to mount a computer on a piece of plywood(or something) and hang it on the wall.

Any suggestions on how to do this? My stumbling blocks are the hd's and cd-rom drives. Not to mention grounding it.

Yeah, I have seen shops that did this to make it easy to test parts like motherboards, you just lifted them out and plugged the new one in...

My own recommendation would be to tear apart two or three junk cases, and use the metal frames within to hold drives and the like. Many cheap new clone cases have a separate piece of metal that the mobo mounts on as well. Then if you drive a few nails through the plywood its all attached to, you can connect each piece to a nail by a piece of scrap wire, and connect them all to a ground wire on the backside.

Thats a good idea window_washer, something else you could use is pegboard, make it large enough and you could hang your tools next to the pieces too!

I did this... sorta. I mounted a computer on a shelf in my desk. I wouldn't even worry about the metal. I just screwed motherboard lifts straight into the shelf and had the motherboard installed on the shelf and mounted everything around it. Worked rather well.

I would love to add some chasing lights on it. That way it is all lit up when you turn it on and it is wall art as well as a functional computer.
Perhaps have it be function specific. Certain lights go on when you access the CD-rom, floppy, hd, etc...
