Resolved [RESOLVED] New Case means New Case Mods

Well, I decided to get rid of my old case, still got it sittin around if anyone wants to make an offer , and I have bought a new Codegen Server 9001 case. It's a nice case but it was too.... white. So I took care of that and decided to post some pics. Unfortunately, the lighting didn't do it much justice but here they are anyhow. You'll see, in the last pic, my Geforce2 MX400 with a Thermaltake Blorb and 8 ramsinks affixed with Arctic Silver Adhesive.

Nice. How'd you cut the Quake logo?

    ------------------
It's supposed to do that... and that... hmmmmm... probably not.

Oddly enough everyone says "Don't cut intricate patterns with a dremel! Damn near impossible!" So everyone goes with a saw or, for the financially inclined, laser cutting" Well, I wanted to prove 'em wrong and cut it with a dremel. I think it turned out really good with a little sanding afterwards. I've got a purple cold cathode tube coming in tomorrow so it should be glowing pretty good... I'll post more pics then

    Nice job!

Did you do a concealed jobbie for the CD drive?

Casters are cool, now I gotta get me some too.

Yea, forgot to mention that as well. I did do a stealth mod on the cd drive and it was relatively simple and looks a whole lot better. Plus, I really wasn't wanting to paint my cdrw

I'm still looking for some fiber optics because I'm going to cut small holes in the slot cover and run fiber optics from the cdrw status lights to the holes that I'll make in the slot cover. If anyone knows where I can find some, feel free to let me know

Awesome mod! I really like the Q3 cut out, and it will look really nice once you get the cathode tubes in. Nice job....can't wait for more pics!

    Question

Nice Job dude!! How about the Quake logo: is it just a hole or you actually have a glass to protect the inside form dust??

No, there's Plexi on the other side of it. Funny story - I wanted to get this all together and I didn't have any epoxy at home that would bond decently to both metal and plastic so I ended up using some arctic silver adhesive to bond the plexiglass to the inside of my case.

Okay, finally got my light so here's another pic plus one of just the cutout. Someone had requested one so I figured I'd post it.

Actually that was intentional... It's faded more now but those pics were before the 3rd and 4th coats.
