    Post P3/4 Server Mainboards

    Hey all,

Looking for opinion on the Tyan's dual P3 mainboards. Mainly, the chipset: Serverworks. I am not famliar with this chipset family, use to only seeing Intel, Via, ALI, and SIS chipsets but never seen a Serverworks. Anyone out their running a board with this chipset? The server will be running Win2k Server running IIS and SQL 7.

Or can someone recommend a better server mainboard, the server is going to be located a couple hundreds miles from me when its up and running so I need something really really reliable.

    Thumbs down

There is only one thing I am willing to say on ServerWorks chipsets and it is
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO .
I have before posted here in the forums as well as in other forums about my bad experiace with them including Technical explenation of why they were created (and cant be fixed).
Mainly DMA problems coming from the chipset design.
