Logitech opticals
I have owned a LOT of mice...the best of them have been Logitechs. However, I was disappointed when I picked up a translucent blue optical mouse by Logitech, as it made jerky movements when it was idle for a while and I got back to it again.
However the mice have not only imrpoved but have dropped in price.
I picked up a nice white (with translucent blue bottom) Logitech optical mouse, at Compusa today, it was only $10! And it is the best mouse I've ever owned.
I highly recommend Logitech mice! I still have a Logitech 2 button ball mouse from 1994 that works better than that POS Kensington I got last year.

I agree Monkey Boy. I have a few Kensington wheel mice at the high school and I have yet to get the wheel to work...aaaargh!
Logitech rules.
(good to see you back...)

Logitech Optical Wheelmouse myself. I am very impressed with this mouse, as it has survived a few dozen falls from the desk onto the tile floor without any discernable problems.
Never going back to tradtional ball mouse again; optical is just too smooth.

I have a Logitech Cordless Optical both at work and home. The best mouse I've ever owned. And it fits my hand very comfortably.

A translucent mouse could be affected by fluorescent room lighting or swamped by sunlight once you stop using it (so your hand is no longer shielding it from the light).

I say most optical mice made nowadays by the two main manufacturers (MS and Logitech) are wonderful. I've got an MS Explorer Optical coming my way shortly. I've been using the same mouse now for 3 years so I finally decided to upgrade. Can't wait to play q3 with no moving parts affecting my fraggin

I have never used anything but logitech all the way back to my old combus mouse and DOS/Win 3.1. Currently using a three button Trackman Vista or a 3 button Serial/PS2 Mouseman. When one or the other stops working it will be replaced with optical.

I got my Logitech Optical Wheelmouse a few months ago and love it. It was cheaper than the MS, so I got it. As it's been said before, I'll never go back to a ball mouse.
