    Post MoBo GA-71XE4 and Athlon

    Just having a read and if I flash my BIOS I can have a new processor. Two questions:
    1) Do i need to flash to ver F6 then F7 before F8? Or just straight to F8?
    2) What is the max processor (talking Athlon) speed for this board using BIOS ver 8?

    Gigabyte GA-71XE4 is the board

    This is not my side of computing and is a little bit much for me!

    The latest BIOS revisions will always contain any prior BIOS changes that have been made so you are fine to go straight to the latest version without the intermediate revisions.

    Acording to the AMD recomened list the board will take a 1 GHz T-Bird with BIOS F7.

    Of couse that is what is "recommended" it could do more but no grarentrees.
