    Unhappy Duron 650, Biostar M7VKB, WinME, Lucent LT Winmodem

    Cannot get dial-up networking to work on the above configuration. Last one built on this hardware, I used Win98SE and had no problems.I'm reading of a lot of problems with modems and dial-up networking in WinME. Dowloaded the fix from MS but it didn't work either......I'm looking now at a different modem, a differnt MB or going back to Win98SE.....opinions please.

    I am running athlon 800 Asus a7v with generic winmodem on WinMe, no problems at all. try the generic driver from the lucent website and see if that helps.

    Tried the generic driver from Lucent's web site last nite....still didn't work. Got a USR PCI Winmodem this morning and put it in..worked great. I guess I won't use LTWinmodems with this setup for the time being...thanks for the reply
