Duron
I fell for hype and reviews and have ordered the Duron 600 and GigabyteGA-7ZM board. Anybody else built a Duron machine yet? After reading the posts, I have a couple of questions before I purchase the additional hardware. Do I need to buy Micron memory? Go with a 300w power supply? I'm a system builder and have been doing mainly Intel the last 18 months because I could built Celerons or PII/PIII's on a good BX board and offer the customer an easy upgrade path. Now that AMD offers the same with Duron/Thunderbird, I'd love to move away from Intel. I've never built an Athlon machine but have done several K6-2's in the last few months. I had hoped to keep this machine a while and play with it but it looks like it is sold as soon as I get it built so I don't need the headaches and delays. Any suggestions appreciated.
