Every review site out there recommends a different board these days. I don't think there's that much difference in the hardware perspective. Most people around here will suggest the ABit KT7A with RAID. The best part about the ABit is the Softmenu III BIOS utility for jumperless overclocking.

The Abit boards are fine if you set them up correctly. Yes there are some compatiability issues (but then again these are common to most boards of similar spec anyway). For standard SDRAM setups I would percsonally recommend the Abit KT7A-RAID (superb performance & rock solid once setup correctly). For DDR solution I have been looking eagerly at the Abit KG7-RAID which runs the AMD761 NorthBridge & VIA 686B SouthBridge & also supports upto 4Gb of PC2100 DDR-SDRAM!!! Veru impressive specs, lets just hope it lives up to the reputation that Abit boards currently have.
