AMD K II vs K III
What is the principle difference between the K 2 and K3 chip? I do not run games or graphic intensive applications.

K6-3 has more cache but I do not think they are making anymore.
K6-2 is cheap and available

k6-3 has integrated 256kb of L2 cache - effectivly making you on motherboard cache L3, which makes a HUGE difference. if you can find a k6-3 and a k6-2 at the same speeds - take the k6-3.
i had a k6-2/350 and a k6-3/400 and there is a major speed improvement between the two (photoshop loads ALOT faster) the 400 - in comprarison seems like a 500 when directly compared to a 350.

A K63 450 AMD processor will run as fast as a K62 600 or faster.
So just think what you would be getting if you Tweaked it up to 500mhz!!
