tbird + ga 7xie + 2940 cant partiton

i cant partition 2 wd 10K hd on my 2940 with tbird 750 + ga 7xie board.
tried win98se fdisk and partition manager.
get "divide by zero" error on fdisk
no problem on my pentium 3 733 computer
please urgent help

try a low level format from the scsi bios
