Exclamation My amd PR-133 Shows up as 100mhz!!!!!!!!!

I really would like it to go back to haveing it as a 133mhz like it was. It also has a 66mhz bus and i would really like to get it working right...

Right you need to go in to your bios and there there is an option to drop down the speed to 66mhz instead of 100 mhz if you need more precise advice then drop me an email.

The amd and cyrix chips whith pr ratings, in this case 133, don't run at that speed. they run at a slower speed, in this case probably 100 mhz, and claim to be as fast as a 133 mhz pentium.

The PR133 really runs at 100, but internally clocks to 133. At work we have a few old PR200+ chips, but the spec on them says that you have to run them at 166, and the chip itself clocks to 200....

Guess it was a good idea at the time, cos 200 then was damn fast...(I remember swapping my 166MMX with a 200, and a 200 with a 200MMX, so I could take the 200mmx chip home with me.... Dead happy )

The Cyrix 200+ does not "clock itself" to 200 MHz, it simply performs similarly to a 200 MHz in various benchmarks, hence the Performance Rating (PR) attached to the cpu's name. It runs at 166. (Some 166's were set for 83x2, which truly did give a 200 a run for it's money)
