Question Gigabyte Slot A board question

Anyone know what the difference is between the Gigabyte GA-71XE and the GA-71XE4?

Gigabyte's site is inconclusive. The boards look identical to me, but the "4" variant tends to cost about $10 more.

Also, anyone had good luck with these boards? Good? Bad? Somewhere in between?

What I have been able to determine is that the xe4 is Sockket A (t-bird and duron) whereas the xe is Slot A.

    Cool...thanks for the info.

Weird that this isn't really clear on Gigabyte's site.

Ran across shots of the two boards on Motherboard Homeworld that confirm the "4" is a Socket A.
