modem and sound card IRQ conflict???
My system consists of:
Celeron 400 (slot 1)
Abit BX-6 rev.2
128 megs PC100 ram
8.4 GB WD HD IDE
V3 3000
SB Live Value
USR 56K Voice Winmodem
48X CD IDE
CD-RW IDE
IOMEGA ZIP 100 (internal)IDE
I am getting a lockup online (only) when overclocked to 75Mhz bus (450Mhz). When playing any games or doing anything else, it does not lock up. I was told that it might be a sound card and modem IRQ conflict. Is there anyway to tell if this is true? What do I need to change in BIOS to resolve this problem. Right now, the modem IRQ setting in BIOS is "NA". I know it isn't a heat problem though. The hardware monitoring reports the MB temp at about 35 deg. C and the CPU at no more than 40 deg. C. Thanks for any advice!!

Mmmm... Try to disable a serial port (if not in use).
Do you have the problem only at 75 or also at 66?

It happens only when the FSB is set to 75Mhz. It locks up when I get online after about 5 to 7 minutes. It locks up solid as a rock. Everything is fine when not overclocked.

Try adjusting your voltage on the Abit board

I also have a simular problem with the BX6-2 and my celery 300 running at 450. games are fine but windows crashes when not playing a game. Sometimes I get a bluescreen complaining about explorer.exe before it locks, but the computer is fine when not overclocked. It has just started to do this, the first few months at 450 were fine which leads me to believe that the chip is dying. Time to buy a cheap 333.

I had modem problems too.....ater installing a pci modem, my pc would lock up sometimes when on the internet. I was also getting event messages that the modem drivers were trying to use memory allocated to other resources. Since the modem was software driven, I couldn't get the problem fixed until i used another brand modem.
