pentium 2 to pentium 3
I have a pentium 2 based sony computer how can i be able to upgrade to pentium 3? since p3 is based on p2. can i just get a new p3 and replace the p2? i hope i dont need a new motherboard because mine everything is built together. PLEASE HELP ME i keep asking the sony support but they never answer can anyone help me? and dont talk about upgrade processors.

this is not a reply i need to add that my comp is pentium 2 333mhz with 66mhz bus

probably not. though it depends mostly on your motherboard. it probably doesn't support a 100mhz/133mhz bus speeds which it will need to do to support a PIII depending on which processor your thinking of upgrading to.
