    Arrow Celeron 800 and Gigabyte BX2000 ?

I've just bought a Celeron 800 and tried it in my GigaByte BX2000 board but it won't POST.

The GigaByte web site says that this board will do 100MHz FSB x 8 so why doesn't it boot?

I've got the latest BIOS and tried everything I can think of. Any ideas?

    Cool

The only thing I can think of is that the Celeron 800 (being a new design)is not supported by the board/BIOS.

Try it with older CPU (Petium II for instance), it could be a damaged motherboard.

    Question

I had a Celeron 400 in there working fine, but the board didn't like the 800.

I've checked through the BIOS updates at the Giga-Byte site but it doesn't mention it supports the 100MHz FSB Celerons, so I guess it doesn't.

    Time for a new board methinks <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0">

I've ended up buying the GA-60XC motherboard for it.

Not a bad board once you install the latest drivers for the IDE as the CD ones killed my DVD drive!

Seems pretty quick and was easy to get running.
