Evil Custom Installs of IE
ok ok, i'm getting sick of using Netscape6 (sorry all you netscaper's, IE5.5/6 is more compatible than netscape, except on netscape's site.
Anyhow, I re-installed AOL 6.0 on my system (No need to beat up on me for that.... the parents use the PC too) and it customized the IE5 and Outlook Express with the AOL logo in the "rotating logo/thingie" in the upper right corner (you gotta a scientific name for it?) and the Internet Explorer provided by America Online in the title bar.
I know that MSN used to do this at well, but i forget how to get rid of the d***ned thing!!!!
Dont suggest "Reinstall IE 5/5.5/6.0, cause i already did.... i re-installed IE5 SP1, IE 5.5 SP2 2x, and IE 6.0 (just came out), cause it didnt work. Any ideas, lemme know.
Good old NetWare 3.11... if only modern O/Ss were made of the same stuff. Forget Windows 2000 for 99.999% uptime, this one had it ten years ago.

That "thingee" is called a throbber. Go to my site here: http://www3.sympatico.ca/corey.reynolds/downloads.html and download the Throboff patch to get rid of em.

Or you could goto the IE download site & download the IEAK & create your own customized version if IE6 with whatever you want as the 'throbber'
