Adobe Acrobat Reader
Since reformatting my HP Pavilion & reloading WinME I can no longer use any version of the acrobat reader. Each version I load gives me the same error. The program begins to load, then stops with an error:
Acrord32 has an unknown error....will now close. I tried pulling a pdf file from the web and got an additional error:
Could not find Acrobat External Window Handler. I've searched Adobe's site for clues have come up empty.
Any of you professional gurus have an idea?
I desperately need to get the reader operating again. I pull updated files daily for my business.
Thanks in advance.

For your downloading a pdf file error, if you are using Netscape, take a look at this article.

Thanks for the input, but, I'm using IE6. Since acrobat will not load completely, even while not opening a pdf file I tend to believe that the problem is more application/os problem related.

Did you try reinstalling? What version of Acrobat Reader are you using, 3, 4, or 5?

I had the exact same problem after upgrading from IE6 preview to IE6 final--just reinstalled Acrobat5 and no more issues....

Note to self: Re-index brain cells, database corruption present.

I think Sowolu may be onto something there.
IE 6 seems to be a bit flaky. I know of quite a few people who updated off the windows update site and have had various things stop working. In my case it was Outlook. Try re-installing... :{
