It sounds goofy, but you should check to make sure your cell phone actually has IR support. Don't be fooled by the dark plastic window on the top of the phone, there may not be any IR hardware behind it! I know most (if not all) the Nokia phones sold in Canada do not have ANY IR hardware in them.

as i said in my previous question logomanager 1.2 WORKS
at this exact moment i have a little icon in my systray (IR) and am happily transfering logos and ringtones to and from an 8810 handset thro the ir window using an ACTISYS.COM ACT IR210L reciever ,,,,,,using logomanager i am getting to many errors Quote "STDTP 2V3 FAILURE ILLEGAL UART"
The IR "eye" on the 8210 is at the side (left)
Nokia.com (america) do not list this phone as it is european ie 900/1800 and NOT 1900.
900/1800 is used throuout eaurope and beyond wheras 1900 is used in usa (check nokia.co.uk)
If as u say "most" nokia phones do not have IR then can someone suggest a program for the ones that do work
the type of prog is to connect a laptop to mobile for communication perposes ie modem.
one last question , has anyone come across a "STYLE" mobile phone modem .......thats that ME thinks this is (nokia have never heard of it!)
thanks

Most of the Data Suite versions and some Logo Manager ones need a patch in order to communicate via infrared. Others just need a modification on the Registry or the win.ini and system.ini files.
