reinstalling win 2000
Can you reinstall windows 2000 without losing data like you can with win98??

yes. There is an option to "Install while leaving current file structure intact."
I'd format though unles you ABSOLUTLY need the data.. you just get bogged down with useless files.

I agree with Matridom...backup all your data files, FDISK the sucker, and reinstall W2K on a clean drive. I've done it both ways and always ended up reinstalling W2K anyway...

shouldnt have a problem with it as long as you don't fdisk and format the drive. just do a reinstall or try a reapair
