Lost Network ID controls
Here's the story...
I have got two machines networked together through a HUB...They both have Win2000Pro...Machine one (room-mate) has (Bell)DSL the second (girlfriend) The first one caught the Magistr Virus. then second soon lost the abilty to surf the net. My girlfriend then decided to install Bell Highspeed Access Manager on the second machine thinking this would solve her problem. it didn't... Now on my weekend visit to her place she gives me this problem solve my internet problem.
I clean off the virus one machine one...get that machine functioning correctly...
I remove the access manager from the girl friends machine and unistall some other crap she put on...I scan for the virus (not detected) I rerun the Internet Connectin Wizard and still nothing...I remove all network stuff of the machine and reinstall all drivers...still no access...Then I try just to communicate witth the other machine no luck...The NETWORK ID button is greyed out I can't change the workgroup...Does anybody no what the hell happened and why I can not changed the network ID information? How do I re-enable that button?
