    Question Read only files

I used a Yamaha CD writer to burn a backup CD . The data located on the server and the burner on a workstation. I am able to access the CD but unable to open any of the files. When trying to open files we recieve a read only message. Does anybody have any ideas as I need to retrieve the data

    Thanks

Is this winNT or win2000? Do you have the rights to read read only files?

Most likely the program you are using requires the the data be able to be manipulated/changed which would require it be located either on a rewriteable cd or transferred to the harddrive before it can be opened. All CDs are normally "read only" since the info can not be changed.

yes agreed . you might want to copy those files that you want to execute to a temp dir on your HDD and see what happens.
