*How to turn on\off Read Ahead Caching for CD ROM?*
It seems I have stumped the many minds at the WinDrivers Forums.. I need to see my files created with DirectCD. They will not be seen under Win2k unless I can get the CD ROM to stop using Read Ahead Caching, or something of the type. So how do I do this? There must be a registry setting I can change?
Please & Thanx.

If your using any kind of SCSI/ATA100 adapter chances are your not going to be able to cause they'll be grayed out. otherwise go to your device manager expand disk drives and double-click on your HD, on the disk properties tab you'll see the write cache enabled check box. Just un-click it.

But isnt that for the hard drive only?
How will this work for the CD ROM?
I only want to turn off read ahead caching for one of my CD ROM devices.

You're quite right that is for the HD's. I didn't see the CDROM reference before. I have been unable to find a way in Win2K to enable or disable Read Ahead Caching
