NTLDR is missing
Compaq deskpro EN - coming up with NTLDR is missing; any idea what this is/means?? Cant get into bios - message comes up immediately.
Really need an answer fast.

Boot from CD attempt to repair via ERD (emergency repair disk). Error code from what I undertand is your boot sector is corrupt.
I got the same issues earlier this week. forced me to smoke the drive and start again, as I didn't "backup" system files for such an ocassion.
If you have a second drive perhaps you can have that intalled with os and have it read the important info off drive with missing boot sector??

If this pc was upgraded from a previous Win9x installation, this might help!

Boot from the CD in the recovory console restore the missing file

I have had this issue a few times before. Every time it has been because someone left a floppy in the a: drive.

How do we know which file is missing?
