    If I understand you correctly, you are saying when you enter your Password, the screen displays ******* ??
    Well, it would! This is a common security measure (Windoze log on, ATM's (cash machines) etc.)
    If you've forgotton your password for your account, you'll have to contact whoever Administers the service you want to connect to.

    Passwords - bane of my life!!!

    Cool

    Telnet sessions usually don't echo anything when you enter the password. It's normal.

    If you need to see what you are typing then use hyperterminal when you telnet. It still has to be setup so after creating the session through TCP/IP winsock, go to file properties settings, select ascii setup and then select echo typed characters locally. Then you will be able to see what you are typing.

    Your using windows 2k so go start->programs->accessories->communication->hyperterminal

    Next choose an identification for the telnet session
    under connect using put tcp/ip winsock
    Next (session will be started now)
    choose file->properties
    then choose the settings tab.
    Next choose ascii setup and place a check next to echo typed characters locally. (this emulates everything you type in your session onto the screen).

    I can't get much more specific than that.
