    Question Constant Rebooting

    HELP*&!$!

I have a machine that every time an Admin of the machine logs in it immediately reboots. If you are NOT an admin it doesn't do this....go figure.....It was doing it about a week ago and I have since reloaded windows...it was ok for about a week, now doing it again...help.....

Machine specs: PIII-733 MHz.....10 gig HDD....128 MB ram......

Not sure if you need that or what other info might be helpful...any insight is MUCH appreciated!

    Whoa!
Okay, this is definately the problem.
    Good news eh?
You've got most of the services failing to start, and other dependant services failing because of the first.
Ill get back to you asap.
2 things major, looks like some hardware isnt loading the correct driver, and the workstation service isnt starting.
Are you sure that all the hardware is the same in both computers? It sounds like the NIC might be different perhaps. (or a different chipset.) Ill look at these shortly. Keep emailing me what you find.
Good call on forwarding me the rtf log.

Ok USEPOST2000....U are now MY personal HERO!! You rock!! I don't yet totally understand all this interpreting (sp?) these logs....I have only been doing this a year and am just starting to get more into the NTish side of things.

Yep, these computers are identical. I have about 70 of them here and probably 10ish others are running this image. (Unless Comcrap thru in weird hardware on this one)

    Keep me posted!!

    Hi,

Have you checked in the User settings, and local permissions. There is a setting in there to do with Rebooting if certain criteria is or isn't met. This would be worth a look at. The solution may be simple.

    Question

    [email protected]
I too am having a problem with random reboots. The problem is not related to a specific program because it reboots no matter what program I am using. I have no clue as to why. Never had that problem before upgrading Windows ME (what a waste) to Windows 2000. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

teachucomp...mine is actually as soon as login. It won't even let you get to the point of running a program.....it is also only if the "user" is a local admin of the machine....go figure....good luck!! It's frusterating....I never really did get resolution to mine.
