    Post Win2k swap file

Our POS system had a 6 GB drive that was going bad. Ghosted it to a 10. Powered off system and the phone rang. System restarted instead of shutting down When it booted into 2000, it put the swap file on D drive. We cant take out the D drive because it wont boot into windows to setup a new swap file with no swap file. And the 6 gig is clicking now. I tried putting a swap file on both drives while in the gui, but wen i restart with the ten, its as if there is no swap file. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I dont want to start the pos system from scratch.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

I've never tried this and it probaby won't even work. But it sounds legit: Boot to DOS and try to copy pagefile.sys from one HD to another.

I'd use that as last resort though...sounds kind of risky.

    I hope this help ....

Go to System Properties (which can be find in Control Panel) Go to Advance ... Go to Performance Option .. Go to Change ... in there you could set where to put the SWAP FILE.
