Windows 2000 refuses to uninstall
I've followed your tricks trying to uninstall Windows 2000 Pro from my computer but it won't leave . I put the Windows 98 STARTUP DISKETTE and I booted my computer with it but it didn't work at all . After doing so, I placed the Windows 98 CD in the CD-ROM DRIVER but Windows 2000 doesn't recognizes it either . When I upgraded from Win 98 to Win 2K, I selected to convert my driver from FAT32 to NTFS (a very BIG MISTAKE
Now this damn Windows 2K doesn't recognize them . I never thought Win 2K was really NT 5.0 . Some computer nerd told me that if I convert from FAT32 to NTFS, my computer won't recognize the Win 98 STARUP Diskette .
I've tried to install drivers to make the modem, the keyboard (the multimedia buttons only) and the Intel 810 graphics chipset; but those drivers aren't recognized by Win 2K
I'm thinking of throwing away my computer and buying a new one . Any suggestions about this problem?? It's driving me crazy !

there should be a file in the windows folder relating to uninstalling windows 2000,by the way the NTFS used by W2k is different than that used by NT [some super duper new type].
The simplest way is to boot with the W98 floppy select FDISK remove all partitions and remake the partitons of your choice in FAT32,this will lose you all the info on the drive but its the easiest way out.

Easiest way to remove a NTFS partition that is not detected or is unremovevable using Fdisk, is to rerun the Win2K setup from DOS (i.e. Boot from the Win2K CD, yes the Upgrade disc is bootable as well), when Setup prompts you to select where you want to install to, DELETE the partition/s that you don't want. When the partition has been removed, just press RESET on the system, and boot from your Win98 disk & use Fdisk to create your required partition structure.
Little tip, although a little late now. If you are trying Windows 2000, from say Win98, leave the drive structure as FAT32 just in case.

So you want to remove Win2k in favor of 98? NTFS is a non dos partition so you have to use a different option in fdisk.
