Resolved [RESOLVED] Diamond MM Monster 3D II FX PCI Card

Can anyone tell me why windows 2000 does not dectect this PCI card in the correct portion of the device manager?

I have installed the card, and loaded the correct drivers (3DXF Voodoo2)but win only see's it as and AUDIO device?

Can change settings in the advanced display properties tab, but the device manager does not list is as a graphics or video card.

Once I have installed it, how can I test to see if it is working correctly.

    Any help appreciated.

It is in the correct spot. The category is sound, video and game controllers and I am afraid that particular piece of hardware falls under VIDEO.You can test to see if it is working by running a game that either requires 3D accelleration like Turok the dinasour hunter or install a game and configure the graphics to use the voodoo card. I have the same card but the games I want to play with it won't run under 2000 so tell me how it performs.

Any 3D accelerator, such as the Voodoo 2, that piggybacks off an exisiting video card will ALWAYS be listed under Sound, Video & Game controllers. It is classified as a video controller, not a graphics card.

    Hi xsrvx,
Thanx for your help, finally managed to correctly install card and drivers, but like you I am not sure what will play on W2K. Found one demo game "Hitman Codename 47", and that does kick in the 3D card.

    Thanx again, Phoneblock
