Random reboots?
I have the problems where occasionally the system will just up and reboot. Ususally when in a 3D application/game (even winblows pinball) or sometime just whenever.
I don't think it's a hw problem as it never happened in Win98 or while I was briefly testing WinMe.
Brief synopsys of system:
Athlon 500
256 MB RAM
300W pwr supply
128 PCI Sound Blaster
MSI 6167 Motherboard
56K 3Com sw modem (eww)
32 MB TNT2 card
3Com 3c905 nic

Hi,
I can't find any tech spec on your motherboard MS6167 at MSI Web. Whenever I do a research on that product, it's saying that there isn't any such product. Are you sure of your motherboard product id ?
Otherwise, I want to know the ref. of your graphic display so I can help you better.

according to MSI the only two Motherboards for the Athlon 500 (slot A) are the MS-6191 and the K7 pro (Ms-6195)
anyway if the problem didn't happen in other windows I'd suggest you get the latest bios for your board: http://www.msi.com.tw
get the latest driver for the TNT2 : http://www.nvidia.com/Products/OpenD...LE/TNTW2KE.exe
Get the latest chipset driver for your motherboard :
I'm guessing it's AMD chipset:
AGP - http://www.amd.com/products/cpg/bin/..._522_win2k.exe
IDE - http://www.amd.com/products/cpg/bin/eide_132.exe
also take a look at this : http://support.microsoft.com/support...CH&SPR=WIN2000
if it's based on VIA chipset you can get the latest 4in1 drivers from http://www.viahardware.com

i had exactly the same prob until i upgraded to the latest driver for my Creative GeForce 2MX.
it solved my prob for about a couple of days, that is until my Win2000 died a complete death, and now just resets with an unreadable error message on the blue screen of death, just before the desktop should load :-/
