You'll need mIRC from http://www.mirc.co.uk
Install it and set it to connect to irc.fatech.com or whatever the server was. Pick a username and once you're connected type "/join #bandwidth" to connect to the channel. If you're at work, your firewall manager has probably blocked irc connections. See http://www.mirc.co.uk/ircintro.html for a detailed summary of irc.

IRC = Internet Relay Chat

very old school not worth it anymore, but you may have fun. Lots and Lots of chatting

server = irc.infatech.com
channel = #bandwidth

warning watch out for some virus's out there (I think theres a nimda exploit for MIRC)

gets a good anti virus and a firewall when you go IRCing
