    Post Win2k Network SLOW

    Slow how? I would suggest that you have SP1 installed with the hot Fixes. Still don't reccomend SP2 because of all the problems being had with it. Next, make sure you have the latest NIC drivers installed, and only the protocols needed. (Prefer IP) Failing all that, what NIC is in the system. Might have something to do with it. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

    Basic faultfinding should include:
    *Remove un-needed protocols
    *Check the binding orders
    *Check Page File settings
    *Check 'Optimise performance for' settings
    *CHECK FOR VIRUSES!
    *Disable graphic intensive screensavers
    *Check whats loading up @ start-up
    *Isolate different segments of the network to determine if the problem is global or pc specific

    I agree, the problem with your network may be as simple as having maxed out your hubs, are you using hubs, or switches? Might just be the type of network hardware that you have.

    heh, my 2k network at home smokes, even on a lil 8 port hub...want a switch though...
