    Question Windows 2000 & Hardware

Before I build my self a server i would like to know what i should use for windows2000 advanced server. So if any one has any suggestions please let me know. I may have a little bit of a tight budget but i will eventually get a good server. I am a home guy but i would like the servers that are made for enterprises. (I think big)

    Thanks!!

Well, here is my 2 cents worth then. The system Ideally will be a dual processor capable sytem to allow for upgrades in the future. Would start off with a PIII 933 or better. Minimum 256 megs of ram, however I would not suggest going below 512 (Ram is cheap) as this will improve performance alot. Drives: Eithe do SCSI (Mirrored drives to save yourself a lot of trouble ion the future) or you can use a promise Raid controller and do the same with IDE. NIC (Either 3com or Intel) a cheap video card, and a decent full tower with good cooling on the drives should get you going nicely. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
