Scheduled Tasks fail to run
Hi All,
Im having problems getting scheduled tasks to run when the workstation is locked. They run fine when you are using the workstation, when you lock it for the night they start up but don't initialise the actions needed.
Any idea's??
Thanks in advance

Are the tasks scheduled to run as system?
Sounds like they are tasks linked to "run when I log on"
The task schedule wizard will ask you to supply a user name and password for the task to run. That should be a local (machine specific) account unless the user (domain) is a member of a suitably privileged local group.
Hope this helps
Good luck

Thanks Lowland,
They are system tasks, and user name & password are supplied. Admin rights are used for the logon and it is a domain logon. I have looked at the assosiated/dependant services associated with the tasks and they are all starting. I can't see why the tasks work when the pc is unlocked and don't work when it is locked with all the same settings in place.
Is there somewhere else to look for privlages?
thanks again....

This bit of example amy help you setermine exactly what the machine is scheduling:
At
Examples
To display a list of commands scheduled on the Marketing server, type:
at \\marketing
To learn more about a command with the identification number 3 on the server Corp, type:
at \\corp 3
To schedule a net share command to run on the Corp server at 8:00 A.M. and redirect the listing to the server Maintenance, shared directory Reports, and file Corp.txt, type:
at \\corp 08:00 cmd /c "net share reports=d:\marketing\reports >> \\maintenance\reports\corp.txt"
To back up the hard drive of the Marketing server to a tape drive at midnight every five days, create a batch program (Archive.cmd) containing the backup commands. Then schedule the batch program to run by typing:
at \\marketing 00:00 /every:5,10,15,20,25,30 archive
To cancel all commands scheduled on the current server, clear the at schedule information by typing:
at /delete
You may also like to look at the help files for the "Run as" and "At" commands. It will be easier for you to pick these up off your machine rather than me re-writing them.
Good luck - I'm sure someone else will pick up this thread and reply too.
PS, as I'm in Scotland and you're in Australia, I should say something about the forthcoming test series here (cricket) and Test series there (Rugby) - or maybe I should just keep quiet!!!!!
