[RESOLVED] Toshiba XM-6702 Problems

Has anyone had a problems when you can play only certain cd's but not others because the CD-ROM won't even mount the cd?

Could you specify if it's an old model, its speed and tell us a little bit more about the problem? What kind of CDs? Audio or data ones? Original or copied?

I have had tons of problems with these drives that came in some Gateways. Every now and then there is a disc that a drive just won't read, even though it reads most other discs just fine, and an identical drive in an identical machine will read the problem disc just fine as well. We've tried adjusting the drive optics/tracking, but with no success. The only solution I have found is replacing the drive.
