Question on Win2K Adv Server

I have a small server at my house that I have decided to put up on the web so I can access files from school. Is there someway to globally rename the server? In other words, if I wanted to register a domain name and set up my server to use it, I know that I would have to rename my server to whatever my domain was named. How could I change the name without having to redo all the user profiles and DFS share names? Or is it even possible. I would think it would be since sometimes servers go down and other servers are brought in as temporary replacements.

If you have setup an Active Directory , as i think you did , you are stuck with DNS name.
You have to setup Win2k server again for changing DNS.
