Post Mirai 40x12x48 CDRW IDE

has anyone come across or used this burner?

it seems to be very reasonably priced in the uk.

as i have never used/heard of them , i was wondering if the "engine" was by another (well known) Mfg

cheers freddy

Ive got one and its fine. No probs.
Ill take it out later and see if theres another manufacturers nams on the label, but I dont remember seeing one. I had a 24x Mirai before this one, and it never let me down once.

I guess this is them here:

Not one known to me, but the few pictures of drives on the site look rather like Mitsubishi (Diamond Data, Acer, Benq). Can't be sure though.

cheers , everybody - this is the same company.

this is being offered (new 40 speed) at about £80.00 at www.scan.co.uk complete with a 2 year swopout warrenty (unheard of in the UK).
I suppose the issues with those two boards (although i agree that it is prob a 4 in 1 issue)has been resolved by the newer model.

by the specs it looks VERY close to a plextor "engine"

anybody using the 40 speed?

Question

Freddy several of my customers have the 24x version, w/o any probs, I ducked the issue & bought a plextor!, however I thought they were all only made by 4 manufacturers anyway and re-packaged....???
