Win2000 copy commands
I am new to 2000, and I have limited experience NT. I need to know what the 2000 equivalent to xcopy32 is. I have some hard drives that I want to copy. Thank you!

I had a similar problem when I first got Win2K after moving from 98. Eventually, I did find xcopy (it's not called xcopy32 because there is no 16-bit version). It's located at c:\(windir)\system32\xcopy.exe. You might have this set as a path, and you can just type 'xcopy', or you may have to go to that directory (or set it as a path yourself) to use it.

um, i don't think that you are going to want to do that, it takes way too long and won't always come out just right. my suggestion is buying a $25 copy of Drive Image from Powerquest and imaging the hard drive, then copy the image over, only 5 minutes to copy an image as compared to who knows how long with xcopy...also, with the unique id numbers that win2k uses, copying byte for byte to multiple computers on a network is not advisable unless you bring each machine down and change machine name on each one to something unique

WOW! Drive Image for $25? Where? I got mine for $39 and that was $30 off the 'normal' street price (got it at a show). I know Drive Copy costs $25-$29.
