    Exclamation Small Networking Problem

Hello, I have a W2K box which I am trying to get to recognize another computer running Windows 98. It is primarily a file-sharing operation I am trying to accomplish. No advanced stuff like app sharing or clustering. Anyways, I have IPX/SPX installed and also NETBIOS installed. The other Win98 box can see mine, but mine only sees itself in My Network Places. Any suggestions?

Make sure that file sharing is turned on on both systems. With Windows networking, only systems that have sharing files or a printer are designated as servers and are therefore listed in Network Neighborhood (whether you actually share a resource or not).

you need to enable GUEST in Win2K Guest is disabled by default.

Go to the CONTROL PANEL click on ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS, click on COMPUTER MANAGEMENT, click the + next to LOCAL USERS AND GROUP, click on USERS, on the right, right click on GUEST scroll to PROPERTIES then UNCHECK-ACCOUNT IS DISABLED
(make sure you are log-in as administrator)
