to change a .bmp to .jpg

I tried it in paint just using save as .jpg but after uploading to the website it doesn't work.

I've never had a problem using Paint, I wonder if everything else is going right? Could it be something else? A .jpg file can't "remember" how it was created... as far as it's considered, it's a normal .jpg file...

Yep, you should be able to pull it into any image editing program and save it as a JPG. Paint should have worked just fine. Try Photoshop, then, or another program.

When you say it didn't work, what exactly did you mean? Didn't show up on the site, Showed up too large, showed up corrupted...??

Open up Photo Editor that comes with Office. Open the pic, then "save as..." a jpg. Very quick and easy. Of course PhotoShop will work too, but PE launches waaaaay faster.
