Update on CD-ROM Disappeared
Many thanks for your help broken - couple of viruses healed. Downloaded drivers and following installation I can access drives D & E through 'My Computer' and 'Explorer' which is OK as things go......but if Windows is now recognising the drives as existing why is there still no CD-ROM in Device Manager?

Hi, its probably better to try and stay in the topic you created the other day, you can copy your post and add a reply here that way, others will know what advice you have been given, and what you have done already.
In the device manager, are there any errors in the hard disk controllers? little yellow exclamtion marks? if so, this is most likely to be your problem,
Do you know what kind of motherboard you have, are the drivers uptodate?
Hope I can help.
All sorts of wonderful things in life.
