    Post Help with Nero Mix

Whenever I try to configure my cd-rw and cd-rom, all I get is an error message that sates "API initialisation failed." What does that mean, and how do I fix this?

Ronin, what do you mean by configure your cdrom / cdrw drives?

What windows version and what nero version are you using?

When do you get this error?

Do you have more than one burning program installed?

I am assuming you are attempting to get Nero to recognize your cd burner. If this is true, is your burner on Nero's supported list? If not, it is still sometimes possible to get Nero to work with the burner, but not guaranteed. Also, did you install Nero before or after you installed the cdrw? Have you used the burner with another cdrw software? Are you sure the burner is working properly? How is your burner configured? (ex. Master, slave, ide1, ide2, ect..) Is the burner on the same ribbon cable as another device such as a cd-rom drive, or the harddrive, or a zip drive?

I'm using Windows 98SE with a HP cdrw, Creative Labs cd-rom, both are connected to the same ribbon, which connects to the motherboard. Cd-rom is master, cdrw is slave, and I already have a copy of Nero Burning Rom 5.5.8.2. installed, before I installed Nero mix. All I wanted to do was record some mp3's to cd, but I accomplished that task with my copy of Easy CD Creator 5 Basic.

Nero Mix is a peice of burning software that is basically "a wizard" as such,

heres the details from Nero's site...

    <a href="http://www.nero.com/en/index.html#c1002823521247" target="_blank">http://www.nero.com/en/index.html#c1002823521247</a>

and heres the list of supported recorders

    <a href="http://www.nero.com/en/index.html#recorder" target="_blank">http://www.nero.com/en/index.html#recorder</a>

I personally don't use NeroMix after "trying" it.. Too many limited features..

    <a href="ftp://ftp.us.nero.com/Nero5582.exe" target="_blank">Trial version from Nero here.</a>

Also roxio can do this too, it all depends on extactly what you want to do.
If using Nero and you cancel the Nero wizard, you can access alot more features of the program,

    Hope this helps.
All sorts of wonderful things in life.
