    Post DVD Burners

Have any system builders here installed dvd burners? I have to build a machine for a customer with one in it, and I was thinking of using the HP200i, which is a 2nd generation burner. Comments, suggestions? Tks.

Unless you NEED one don't buy one. The standard has not been set (personally I think the DVD+RW will win) and when the standard is set the burners will get better, faster, cheaper.

I haven't built any with a dvd burner.
    Prices are still high.
Plus, you aren't guaranteed of free upgrades to support more dvd specification revisions.

Best to hold off until dvd burner's become mainstream and prices go down.

Tks for the replies. Customer says that he wants one, even though standards are not set. Asked my distributor to get me a HP DVD200i, and I'll be the guinea pig for this build. Went to the website Freddy suggested, and this drive seems to be adaptable than others.
