Error P30 on a Toshiba?
I am working on a Toshiba T4600/200 series laptop. The specific model is PA1202U. When I try to turn it on, nothing happens other than "P30" appears on the LED above the keyboard. The screen remains completely blank and I can not hear any hard drive activity. This happens when I am running off the battery and when I have it plugged in. I went to the Toshiba website, but did not find anything. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Thanks.

I have never seen or heard of that error message before. Try removing any memory modules and any pcmcia cards from the unit then try it again. you can also remove the hard drive and try the unit. same basic troubleshooting methods as a standard pc, just harder to get to the hardware to remove it.

I found two laptops on Ebay with this error, but the seller did not know anything about it.

ok, I found some more info on that error. Seems it may be a bad/out of spec power supply for that unit
