    Post DVD bad block error

When I try to load any program from my Pioneer DVD 500M, the program fails to load. When I look in the event viewer under the system tab, I
    see the following error message:-

The device, \DeviceCDRom0, has a bad block

My machine spec is as follows:-

    A7M266-D (AMD 760MPX) motherboard
    Dual AMD 1800MP CPUs
    Asus Geforce4 8460 Ultra
    Pioneer DVD 500M
    768Mb 2100DDR
    Audigy Sound Card
    Windows XP Pro

I have installed the latest chipset drivers as told to do by Asus tech support, without any joy.
    Any help would be gratefull

Is there any other devices on the chain?

try a different cable, a cd lense cleaner,

does it happen with all discs?
