TDK 16x10x40 CD-RW ... nothing on cd
A friend just got a TDK in exchange for a cd-rw/dvd that went splat. He can rip music, play music, read from the cd and create images, but when he tries to burn it either creates a coaster(which it isn't supposed to do)or it completely burns the image, yet when you look at it in explorer, windows reports that there is nothing on the disc, yet the space is used. It seems like it's not burning the TOC or something. HAs anyone else had problems with this? He has an AMD 800 Duron, Aopen board, 256 PC133 RAM, has the TDK as master on the 2nd ide with a ZIp 100 as the slave. Tried changing DMA settings and other options to no avail. Think there is a incompatibility with the MB?

According to Adaptec that drive is supported on Easy Cd Creator ver.4.03. If that is the softrware you are using. Have you tried updating your software?

What cd burning software was used? Try updating it if possible. Try different burning software too.

Is there a Flash upgrade avail for that cd-rw? What media are you using? Does it do the same thing if you set to a lower record speed? Are you closing the disk?
