dell ins.3000
win.98-2,10gig hdd.,144mb ram,when i reboot it boots to dos with a warning,xms driver not installed,himem.sys is missing.i can shut down & then power back up and windows loads ok.

Have you checked C:\Windows to see if the file exists?

Driver Terrier
Seems like restart, is trying to restart in dos mode and using the wrong autoexec /config settings, but why its restarting to dos is a mystery.

had this years ago ,,,tried to play a game ,,,etc machine shuts down and runs in dos mode ,,,
ever ending circle ,,,
