Infrared Port
Maybe this topic should be in another forum but it seems to relate to ME. I have used a Motorola Timeport mobile phone with Win98SE no probs (with Truesync software). Good reliable comms.
Now I have upgraded (or downgraded !!) to ME and the comms hardly work at all. The phone infrared is recognised OK but during a long transfer I get a dialog box in the ME systray saying the phone has moved out of range. Changing the baud rate makes no difference and the error appears at random. My phone provider has verified the problem but cannot suggest a fix. Motorola have yet to come back to me.
Anyone have a suggestion as to what changes in the infrared handling ME has made which could account for this. I have tried a new phone with no luck.

Thanks for your good suggestion. After playing around I managed to get a reliable transfer if I shut down Norton Antivirus and System Doctor......now works fine

why would you actually need system doctor running? Most of those programs don't do anything other then use some CPU cycles and RAM. I don't really see what Norton has to do with your problem (are you using Norton AV for ME or for 98 upgraded to ME?
