Dual Boot Problems 2k/Me

I have a win2k/Me dual boot system currently. I didnt want this, it seemed to have happened all of its own. Let me explain...

I Installed a new Abit KT7A-Raid MB, during this installation process, I destroid my OS Boot Sector. At that time I was running Win2k Pro. After a fresh install of Win2k, I lost the OS again. No matter what I did, it was as if my new MB would not boot into Win2k, and apon attempting to boot, destroid the boot sector. So, in an attempt to work around this, I installed Win98(first addition), then installed 2k atop of it. Now, during the instalation of 2k over 98, I specificly selected the option to erase the current OS, and lay a fresh coppy of Win2k. However, after the instalation of Win2k was finished, and rebooted for the last time, before booting into 2k, it gave me the option to boot either into 98 or 2k.
Well, I wasnt happy there, but I chose to boot into 2k anyway, but again, the boot sector was destroid during the process. After this being the third time of this happening, I gave up on 2k with this MB.
From here, I put the hard drive into another computer, and started installing WinMe. Again, I chose to overwrite the current OS. But after the last reboot of the install process, I was again giving the chiose of booting into either 2k and this time ME.
Im not sure at what point I went rong here, and why I have a dual boot system now. Im not going to attemp to boot into 2k at any cost, and I want to remove it completly if possible.
Now, I did try to simply delete my WinNt folder, but I recieved a Recycle Bin error. Something about the Recycly Bin not me correctly formatted for this task. First for me on that.
Also, as I suspected, from within ME, I do not seem to have the option to uninstall Win2k through Add/Remove Programs.
My question: is it possible to remove Win2k without destrying/reinstalling ME? If so, how?

What file system are you using for win2k? If you have NTFS there might be some problems. My suggestion would be to low-level format the hd (available from your manuf)and start all over with a clean install. Sounds as if your hd is a little confused right now.

I installed Win2k on in FAT32 mode. I was worried that some software wouldnt be compatable with NTFS. As far as a LowLevel Format, well lets just say that would mean a total of 5 OS installs this week. Well counting the Linux Red Hat install I did on my secondary system while I was waiting for one of the other installs to complete.

I was kinda hoping I could find a way of getting rid of Win2K from the system without a reinstall. Looks as if thats not in the cards for me though. Thanx for the reply .

I agree with Ruslan, Format the Hard drive and clean install WIN ME, win 2k will be gone forever.

Do the low level format but try win2000 with NTFS. What programs did you think would have a problem with NTFS? The only problem you would have is if you saved files on the hard drive and then wanted to get them from a win9x system (say you throw it in as a secondary drive). Other than that anything that will run in windows will run on NTFS. Win2000 is WAY better than ME.
