nice idea ...........but i think fat 16 will only access 2.0g.

i,ve got a laptop here that has a Knickered controller for the h/d ...........and after abut a month af **** in around .........it now loads win 3.11 from cd rom..........cant save anything apart from floppy ,i use this tosh for doing nokia logo,s and ringtones ,,,,,sit in pub with a book (3000 logos,s),,,,,,,,,dont buy a beer all nite ,,,,and have some penny,s the morning after!!!!

the only prob was vertual memory.

load your machine with 3.11 ,,,set it up with vid/sound etc drivers , then transfer the drive burn it to a cd,,,REF: vertual memory.

3.11 was about the last o/s that did not write back to the auto/config/command ....after 3.11 u cant do it...

alternetly i would sugest picking up a small h/d ......in the past (1995/6.....when a h/d cost more tha a car) i have had win 3.11 running on a 10meg h/d (with absolutly no help files)

get a 5** meg drive from a old 486 (they are free if u ask nice) and set your bios to boot from drive *

that is minimal ,,,,,,wont cost much

u will have problems with drivers (ie video/sound) not being written for 3.11. ,,,,,dont forget ...mscdex /d:mscd0001 ,,,,etc and the config .sys

PS: the flying "windows" screen saver ....will knock u from the chair ....when it fires in¬!!!!!!

ps: just to wind u up,,,,,,,

386/16 with 640k memory ....no monitor no s/card and a 10 MEG hard drive ???..........boot from floppy with a scsi card , yamaha 8824 writer (scsi), plextor 40 reader (scsi) , win on cd (dos version)....nice simple batch file ....and sits there copying cd,s all day !!!!

when the discs eject , i put new disks in and press the reset button.

NOTE: can only copy 1 track ,,,,ie: data , not music
try it yourself (if u got scsi cd-roms) freeby is available ,,,,,x2
