    Resolved [RESOLVED] ACPI help needed

I have just upgraded from Win 98 to Win Me, under Win 98 Standby worked perfectly, now, under Win Me on coming out of Standby the computer does a reboot. Nothing else as changed all hardware have the latest drivers
Prior to the upgrade I took a Ghost image of my boot partition, when I go back to 98 Standby works again.
    Any help would be appreciated

    1. Get the latest BIOS Update
    2. Disable ACPI in your BIOS
    3. boot to safe mode
    4. Open Regedit
    5. Find the "Enum" Key under Hkey_Local_Machine\System and delete it
    6. search for "noide" in the registry - if you find any delete it.
    7. Go to device manager (properties of my computer) and delete all the devices except "Plug and Play BIOS"
    8. In the registry (regedit) go to Hkey_Local_Machine\syste\CurrentControlSet\Control \Class and delete all the "0000" and "0001" and so on under each device Subkey (HDC, FDC, Dispaly etc...)

DO NOT delete the "000x" key for "Plug and play BIOS"

close reg edit and reboot. Windows will redetect all your Hardware. Make sure you have any drivers needed..

You might NOT have "Plug and Play" BIOS if you had ACPI enabled.. in this case if after the reboot windows doesn't detect Hardware just run the "add new hardware" from control panel..

and by the way use the VIA 4in1 4.29 ...

    get it here : http://www.viahardware.com

    good luck.
